The current mood of redness at www.imood.com

A while back I stumbled across a few review sites. The entire process of reviewing other peoples thoughts and dreams intrigued me. So I signed up for one, then many. Even became a reviewer. The process still intrigues me, especially now as I compare the different sites against each other. It has helped me become a better critic and a better writer. Below are all the reviews I have requested and/or have received. Unfortunately, most of these sites are now closed or have been hacked. Soon I will be updating the page to include only reviews that are still able to be accessed.

always romance reviews : pending. . . .

the assholes : 56/100
Review by Dru. I applied to the assholes just to see how much theyd rip apart my site. I was completely impressed that I scored over 50% here. The think I like most about this review site is that they actually say something about your site and arent afraid to critique what they honestly feel sucks. They said that Asshole reviews is not the kind of place for you to ask to be analyzed", but they gave me exactly what I wanted.

bite me review : 97/100
I believe there is only one reviewer for this site currently, who did the review out of order on a fluke. I am happy with the fluke though, because they actually read my diary. Not just 10-30 entries like most sites - all but three months of it. Again, mentioned that the diary is not red even though the username is redness. Someday people will learn that "redness" is my name, not the color. This review lifted my spirits - both for the ego high as well as seeing someone who actually takes time to do a review.

bop reviews : 38/40
Review by Caity. This review is the epitomy of a worthless review. The score is high, but with nothing to back it up. The reviewer says she looked at "about 5 of your entries" yet gave almost full points. There was no critique of any sort, no suggestions to reach the full marks, nothing. This review is why review sites where the reviewer who fills in a little form are not reviews - more like a scorecard for nothing. I am totally unimpressed with Bop Reviews.

burnz reviews : 85.7 B
Review by Sam. One of my first reviews, and one of the worst. By worst I mean she didnt say anything except that I was a waste of her time. It was actually this review that led me to begin analyzing how review sites work, and if they did what they set out to do. You know, the typical vision & mission thing. Anyway, the score wasnt so bad, but I was contacted by Burnz Review shortly after saying that I could get a re-review if I so desired from november9. Yet I never heard back from her after that.

canadian reviews : ?
This review was actually completed, but as soon as I got notification in my guestbook, the site went down. I never actually saw my score. Maybe someday. . .

chinadoll reviews : 96/100
Review by Sommer. She liked what I had, called it "nicely done." Her only real critique was on the layout, which was my second layout one with blocks of blue, grey and black. Most people didnt really like it much, but I dug it for quite a while. China Doll Reviews just seemed very typical of review sites out there; short quips about everything while only really read 20 entries or so.

compendious reviews : 189/200
Review by Dea. This was the fastest turn around for a review I have ever seen it was done within hours of my request. Doesnt mean that the reviewer skimmed over four entries and slapped on a score, she actually did some proper reviewing. Great comments on my content though didnt like the song at the top of every page. To each their own. Very decent review overall.

critiques : 78
This review site was brand new when I applied, thought I'd see what the new girl had to offer. Unfortunatly, it wasn't much. She knocked me down on the content, but again, read less than 10 entries. There was no constructive criticism, something I expected from her other reviews.

curvereviews : 90/100
Review by Poppy. This has to be one of the best reviews I have ever received. Not only because she actually liked how I wrote and what I wrote about, but also because she was truly honest. It was this review that caused me to actually think about my layout because she gave me reason to question what I was presenting to the world. Were now on each others buddy lists as well. Overall, I have been impressed with curvereviews style.

dajay reviews : 95/100
Review by Carmela. This was the egoboost review. She hit me just as I changed to the current layout, so I got a few technical points knocked off, but her comments just made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Shame this site has become inactive it had potential.

the diary critic : pending. . . .

diaryreviews : 97/100
Review by Alee. My first review. The line, "I really enjoyed reading this diary" was all I needed to hear from her. Even though she was much younger than me, we were able to connect. Made me incredibly happy and led me to continue the review process.

dreamreview : 98/100
Review by Gena. This was one of the first reviews I requested and it took months, but I think it was worth it. A thorough review. The reviewer liked everything, so there wasn't much to critique, but it wasn't a typical fluff ego-boost.

dream reviews : pending. . . .

duct tape review : 75/100
Review by Megan. This review started out as a huge apology. The reviewer came off as bitter towards the standards I expect from a review. It set the tone for the entire review, making it seem horrible though if you read between the lines she has a real opinion about what makes a good writer. According to her, I dont have that hook. Fantastic. Im glad that there are reviewers out there who arent afraid to state their impressions. I just wish that it wasnt laced with the bitterness.

electric reviews : pending. . . .

fleur review : 83/100
Review by Michelle. "Paraphrase dear, paraphrasing is your friend. Cut and dry and to the point, I know you can do this." This is what stuck out to me most from the review - I wonder how one paraphrases their life? There was very little critique, just stating things through the eyes of the reviewer. I wouldn't recommend this site again due to its slowness and lack of depth.

fuckin' ugly : 90/100
This review was of the layout alone. The reviewer liked how the top and bottom graphics keep the page looking "solid". Even offered constructive criticism on the "edges" the flowers offer, something I changed up a bit shortly after the review. They take a while at fuckin' ugly, but it was worth the wait.

girl review : 97/100
Review by Dani. One sentance remarks for each of the categories filled this review. This reviewer normally writes quite a bit about the content section, though all I recieved was that I write too much about work. At least she pointed out that I had a broken image (something I didn't notice when I made some minor alterations to the diary recently).

hot pink views : 96/100
Review by Hilary. I was skeptical when I first requested at this site as some of the reviewers are competent and some are completely lacking. I was extremely lucky. She liked what she saw and even posed suggestions tactfully. Reviewer is recommended, site not so much.

i breath reviews : pending. . . .

iron review : 67/100
Review by Roach. I was disappointed in this review for one reason according to my stats tracker he only viewed a total of 9 pages. This includes the signing of the guest book and the older page. So I dont honestly know where he pulled his opinion from other than my disclaimer. He did really like the design though, so I guess thats good. I just expected more from the renowned iron reviews.

lc-revue : 100/100
Review by Rachel. Total fluff review, but she liked it. So its all good. Not much more than scores there, though.

looking views : pending. . . .

lp-reviews : 96/100
Review by LP. Decent review of the second layout. This was a very honest review, including her dislike of the Friday Five bit. I was highly satisfied after it, especially because she got to the review so incredibly quickly.

mew review : 98/100
Review by Chrissi. Very uplifting review from a site that hadn't updated in months. The reviewer wasn't incredibly specific about what she liked, just that I am a delight to read. I was added to her favorites list, which I've said before is a huge compliment.

ms. lovejoy's reviews : pending. . . .

one dark review : pending. . . .

opal reviews : 69/100
Review by Sandy. The reviewer took out a peeve on song lyrics on my review. Not certain why she chose mine, but it's her right to do so. Claims I'm tedious and dull, though only suggestion is to "pump up the writing some". I would have preferred a more detailed critique. Fast, short, and impersonal - I would not reccommend this site again.

orgasmic reviews : 120/100
Review by Miss Pleasure. This is a great review site - very honest sometimes even turns into an advice review instead of diary review. Anyway, I was expecting to be torn to shreds here, instead the reviewer offered up a perfect score and with explanations of why she gave the scores she did. While a total ego boost, it was a true review including reading back a bit.

our views : 103/100
Review by Jo. The reviewer really likes my diary, even added me to her favorites list (something I consider a very high honor). Even though she raved, there were true criticisms intermixed mostly dealing with the lack of color to the template. I was very satisfied after this review.

quite nasty reviews : 69/100
Review by The Merciless. Another review that said nothing besides this bores me. Thanks, but why?

r-e-v-i-e-w : 100/100
Review by Valerie. I waited a long time for this review, and part of me wished for more from it. She loved that I wrote universally so, while she is far younger than me, she understood and connected with it all. No real critique here, mostly ego boost fluff.

reviews from the attic : 106/100
Review by Misty. My first score of over 100. She loved the self-design and was the first to notice the gaps I have at the beginning of the diary. I mean, I had hoped reviewers would notice that I forgot I even had it for over a year. It was really nice to be reviewed by someone closer to my own age who had similar experiences. This is another site I would highly recommend for honesty.

rose reviews : 93/100
Review by Carla. Seems like this is a decent review, though the reviewer rambled a bit in her content critique. According to her I do the "day log" thing, but descriptively. Or something. The site, overall, is one of the better review sites out there right now.

screw u reviews : pending. . . .

see the sites! : pending . . . .

sinful reviews : 95/100
Review by Brittany. Another total ego boost review. But this time around there were hints of real criticism mixed in with the praise. I was truly surprised and pleased to find out the reviewer was so much younger, because she had something to say. She wasnt all about the template though. I understand its difficult for people to see how it reflects me (and it truly does) and how the color red is never around.

snowflake review : 98/100
Review by Jessica. I was able to see this review, but again, the site shut down shortly thereafter.

special reviews : 95/100
Review by Beka. The score was high, but the review said little. Since Beka is a friend of mine and is still just getting started with reviewing, we talked a bit about giving out opinions. I do hope this site grows into a great review site.

starry reviews : 99/110
Review by Jewel. She was WAY too enthusiastic about the self-design in this review. My guess is that shed been utterly disappointed with recent templates shed reviewed. She wanted me to delve deeper into things, but didnt quite explain herself. I wish she had, because Id like to understand how I could honestly go deeper without ruining myself.

stitch-revus : 96/100
Review by Anna. This review made no sense to me whatsoever. First off, her grammar was horrible. We all know that I am a bigtime grammar stickler. Secondly, she called my life nonchalant at a time when I was going through a really tough time with my back. How can one call falling off a house and being hospitalized stable or nonchalant? The score was good, but I have a bad feeling she based the content score on someone else.

surface reviews : 70/100
Review by Angela. The entire score was based on the black background with the white font. Apparently the reviewer despises every and all black background sites. Thats all I got out of the review.

sweet reviews : 81/100
Review by Linda. The reviewer felt that I don't hit on the "inner layer" of my emotions whatever that means. Only real disappointment with the review is that I had asked for someone who was out of high school - the reviewer even said herself that she didn't relate to me, as she is still in junior high. Other than that, fairly typical.

tiki reviews : 102/100
Review by Tashina. This was a decent review. Score was high, which is always nice. I don't think the reviewer knew that links for AIM don't work unless the person is logged into the system, which at the time of the review I was unable to log in on a regular basis. No real critique or suggestions, just semi-compliments. Overall, I've noticed that tiki reviews does a decent job. They aren't the best review site, but never the worst.

zap-reviews : A
Review by Becca. This is the site where I am also a reviewer. It took forever and Becca knows this, hence the huge apology at the beginning of the review. Shes a good reviewer because she actually looks at a diary and sees it the way the writer does. At least thats my opinion of her. She lets you know when shes confused or when she doesnt like something. For example, she didnt understand the Brother thing and many dont quite grasp a co-educational Fraternity. I honestly cant say bad things about the review site since I work there. I wouldnt if I hated the place or they only handed out fluff.
